Julia joined David Chipperfield Architects in 2012 and has served as a director of the London studio since 2021.
As part of a collaborative leadership team, she is responsible for the management of the practice — strengthening design culture, building project teams, overseeing the strategic operation of the studio, and promoting knowledge sharing across the global family of offices.
Currently, she oversees the development of Muzej Lah, a new art museum in Slovenia, as well as the restoration and conversion of the historic Jenners building in Edinburgh. Julia has played a leading role on a wide range of significant projects, including 30 Grosvenor Square in London and the Dunard Centre Concert Hall in Edinburgh.
Having studied architecture at the University College Dublin, and with over 25 years in the profession, Julia has a wide experience of working on significant educational, cultural, and commercial projects globally. Before moving to London, she worked with Heneghan Peng Architects on the Giants Causeway Visitor Centre in Northern Ireland and the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza.
