Julia Loughnane joined David Chipperfield Architects in 2012 and has been a director since 2021. She has over 20 years of professional experience following completion of her studies at University College Dublin. As one of the Team Leaders in the London office, Julia currently oversees several projects including Lah Contemporary, a new art museum in Slovenia, and the restoration and conversion of the historic Jenners building in Edinburgh. She has previously worked on cultural and commercial projects around the world, including the conversion of the former US Embassy building into a hotel in London and a period as Project Architect on the Dunard Centre in Edinburgh. Additionally, Julia co-leads several studio-wide activities that look to strengthen the studio’s design culture and the project team’s design ownership.
