Alasdair Graham joined David Chipperfield Architects in 2015, becoming a director in 2019. Alasdair assists the studio’s Project Architects and teams to ensure a focused and investigative approach to design that is embedded in the practice’s larger body of work. Alasdair currently oversees several major commercial, cultural and civic projects across Europe and North America, including the Dunard Centre concert hall in Edinburgh and the LSE Firoz Lalji Global Hub in London and the Parliamentary Precinct Project in Ottawa. He has led several competitions and projects for the practice, including the transformation of the Grade II listed US Embassy building at 30 Grosvenor Square in London.
With over 20 years’ professional experience, Alasdair has worked internationally for offices including Harry Gugger Studio, OMA and Zaha Hadid Architects. His expertise spans all project stages and scales, encompassing cultural, educational, commercial, mixed-use, and residential buildings. Alasdair studied architecture at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow and the Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL, London.
