Holocene oil lamp

The Holocene oil lamp by David Chipperfield belongs to a series of fire-based light sources by Swedish lighting company Wästberg. Named after the geological period, the series can be seen as a tribute to times when man cherished fire not only as a light source but as an important part of life and culture. Made of sanded brass, the oil lamp has two movable plates, which are polished on the inner side to reflect the flame. The collection also includes an oil lamp by Ilse Crawford and a candlestick holder by Jasper Morrison and was launched at the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair 2017.
