Benito Blanco studied architecture at the ETSAM, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and has over 20 years’ professional experience. He has led cultural, commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, transport and urban masterplanning projects at some of the world’s leading architecture practices. Benito joined David Chipperfield Architects in 2014, becoming a director in 2018 and a partner in 2021. His projects for the practice include: the extension and reconfiguration of Selfridges on Oxford Street, London; and the transformation of Banco Santander’s historic headquarters in Spain. Benito is responsible for setting out the project framework, ensuring a rigorous design process, and defining and maintaining a strong managerial structure for projects through to delivery.
