Ulrich Goertz studied architecture at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen and the University of Washington, and has been working as a qualified architect since 1991. Before joining David Chipperfield Architects in 2001, Ulrich worked in several architectural practices and was involved in planning the transformation of the Reichstag in Berlin. Ulrich became an associate at David Chipperfield Architects in Berlin in 2006. He has been project architect for a diverse range of projects, including the Empire Riverside Hotel in Hamburg, the ‘Kaufhaus Tyrol’ Department Store in Innsbruck and the Office Building Europaallee in Zurich as well as the Bötzow Brewery in Berlin. Ulrich is furthermore responsible for the overall team management within the Berlin office and set up an internal sustainability working group, coordinating all activities related to this topic.
