Robert joined David Chipperfield Architects in 2004, becoming an Associate in 2017. His main field of expertise is in detail and technical design, extending through to site design supervision. With his skills in detailing and construction, he has made a significant contribution to a wide range of key projects in the office, including the Empire Riverside Hotel in Hamburg, a laboratory building for Novartis in Basel, the extension of the Kunsthaus Zürich, Amorepacific headquarters in Seoul the BVK headquarters in Munich as well as the Nobel Center in Stockholm.
Following his training as a draughtsperson, Robert studied architecture at the Technische Universität Berlin, graduating in 1994. Prior to joining David Chipperfield Architects, he acquired extensive experience across various architectural practices in Berlin.
