Martin Reichert joined David Chipperfield Architects Berlin in 2000. He became Director in 2006 and was Managing Director from 2011 to 2024 and has been a Partner in the Berlin office since 2011. Martin plays a central role in the Berlin office, overseeing the areas of project management, Communications and New Projects. During his initial years in the office, Martin was project architect for the Neues Museum on Berlin’s Museum Island. With his profound expertise in the field of heritage architecture, Martin has supervised a wide range of international restoration projects, including the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin and the Haus der Kunst in Munich.

Martin's academic background includes studies in art history and archaeology at the Freie Universität Berlin and the Universität Wien, followed by architecture at the Technische Universität Berlin. In addition to his work for the practice, he contributes to the architectural heritage community as a member of the monitoring group of the German National Committee of ICOMOS.
