After completing an apprenticeship as carpenter, Julia studied architecture at the Münster School of Architecture, graduating in 2011. Initially she worked as an architect for several years in Heiden, before joining David Chipperfield Architects Berlin in 2013. As project architect Julia is responsible for the design development of a number projects, including the masterplan for Alexander Haus in Berlin, a gallery building in Berlin Kreuzberg as well as private houses in Munich and Hannover, Germany. In 2017 Julia became an associate in the Berlin practice. Together with Frithjof Kahl, she has been responsible for the development of small scale projects since 2020.
