Frithjof Kahl studied architecture at the Universität der Künste Berlin. Following his graduation in 1997, he worked as research assistant at the Universität der Künste Berlin and in several architectural practices. Amongst other projects he was involved in the design of the Chancellor’s Office in Berlin. Frithjof joined David Chipperfield Architects Berlin in 2007. As project architect he has been responsible for the developed and detail design of numerous projects, including the Palais Varnhagen in Berlin, the Jacoby Studios in Paderborn as well as a number of buildings for the Ernsting´s Family company on their campus in Coesfeld-Lette. Frithjof has been an associate at David Chipperfield Architects Berlin since 2017. Together with Julia Schenke, he oversees the development of small scale projects. In addition to this, Frithjof became project manager in 2021, supervising a number of projects in this role.
