A ceremony was held on 19 June to celebrate completion of the Hertogensite residences project in Leuven. There was a ribbon cutting and speeches by Leuven Alderman Carl Devlies, CEO of the developer Resiterra Erik Van Hoof and Project Architect at David Chipperfield Architects Julien Gouiric. Journalists from consumer and trade broadcast and print media were given a tour of the project which combines a 14-storey tower, nine town houses and an apartment building all connected and using a coherent architectural language. The project forms part of a wider ongoing masterplan for the redevelopment of a former hospital complex, and contributes to the opening up of the site and its reintegration into the surrounding city.
