This award is given to the Neues Museum by the Federal Chamber of Engineers for outstanding works of architectural engineering in the Federal Republic of Germany. The Neues Museum is described as the highlight of the World Heritage Site, Museum Island Berlin and the cradle of Prussian construction marked by industrialisation. This award also celebrates the achievements of the structural engineers involved in the project from the company Ingenieurgruppe Bauen, who together with David Chipperfield Architects developed individual verification methods and careful reinforcement measures.
