Our Berlin office is looking for qualified and experienced architects as project architect / project manager to lead large and complex heritage, renovation and new build projects.
Your scope of work as project architect will comprise the following:
Fulfilment of the contract
- Support for contract management, preparation of scope of work and project costing
- Fulfilment of the contractually agreed services
- Organisation of management meetings
- Management and coordination of processes/project disruptions related to the contract
- Identification of non-contractual services, preparation of notification of amendments
- Preparation and follow-up of supplementary fee proposals
- Effecting approval of services
- Defect management
Client coordination
- Results-driven coordination with clients and users
- Methodical interaction with clients
- Convincing presentations
- Effecting decisions and approvals
Project management / planning of the design process
- Development and tracking of schedule, project costing
- Cost control of the design in accordance with the design stage
- Coordination of project staffing / team organisation chart
- Resource control (monthly)
- Organisation of the design team (client, specialist consultants, experts...)
- Ensuring coordination between the parties involved in the design
Requirements
- Degree in architecture
- At least 5-10 years of experience with a focus on the role of project architect
- Extensive experience with complex projects
- Design skills and constructive expertise
- Knowledge of legal framework
- High degree of independence, personal responsibility and diligence
- Structured working methods, analytical thinking and ability to prioritise
- Strong team player
- Proficiency in MS-Office and MS-Project
- Experience of BIM processes
- CAD knowledge (Archicad)
- Fluent in German
- Good written and spoken English
You are experienced in dealing with complex clients/user constellations and have goal-driven communication skills. You are able to lead large and demanding coordination meetings confidently. You always have an eye on the project objectives and manage the planning process accordingly. You have an experienced command of the control mechanisms for scheduling and cost planning. You are familiar with the essential criteria of an architect's contract and enjoy leading and motivating a larger design team. You see these activities as an essential part of the architectural process, providing the framework for the completion of projects of outstanding design quality.
