The 3D Visualiser role sits within the visualisation team and provides visuals for architectural projects.

Part of a dedicated team of visualisers who work as valued members of our design teams creating 2D/3D images and diagrams for a variety of project stages. This role will also assist less experienced architectural colleagues using visualisation programmes, sharing your knowledge and expertise.

The 3D visualiser reports to the Director of Communications.

Key responsibilities

Project work

  • Work collaboratively and directly with project teams on the production of high-quality images and illustrations to a presentation standard whilst working to fixed deadlines.
  • Understand the design strategy of the project, the underlying concepts and initial design intent, and apply this into the graphic representations.
  • Think laterally and find solutions around project impediments to help resolve detailing and design issues in 3D to align with the project’s design agenda
  • Coordinate 3D Geometry to achieve consistency between the design model and render model
  • Modelling projects from drawings and applying and unwrapping, texturing, lighting, camera animation, rendering etc.
  • Maintain accuracy and high-quality outputs, upholding visual standards
  • Assisting and supporting projects where there is a shared responsibility alongside Visualisations Lead.
  • Input into Visualisation library to encourage knowledge sharing and create shortcuts for future work
  • Manage postproduction for 2D and 3D image compositing, finishing and retouching operations on 3D renderings
  • Explore new technologies to improve the quality of visualisations and/or the efficiency of delivery
  • Support with training architectural team members and sharing knowledge on image production.
  • Typically using Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Visualiser will be asked to manage individual projects from start to completion with
  • Visualisations Lead as well as working as part of a team on larger scale projects.
  • Visualisers will be asked to participate in the presentation of design proposals to perspective clients or managers with support from Visualisations Lead.


Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in creating compelling visuals in-house within a Architecture, design studio or similar
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working with project teams when creating visuals
  • Curiosity to try new ideas and approaches
  • High level of proficiency in using Photoshop software
