Tegel family of rugs is the result of a special collaboration between Swedish manufacturer Kasthall and David Chipperfield. The collection of three rugs has been launched during Milan Design Week in April 2023.

“Tegel”, Swedish for brick, was inspired by the historic brick buildings at the Kasthall headquarter and factory in Kinna, Sweden. The design of the family has been defined by studying the way rugs are often overlapped in living environments. Natural and earthy colours come together in a series of layers of different sizes and alignments. The three distinct patterns, Corner, Side and Centre, express different spatial configurations that affect the perception of the surroundings. The Tegel rugs are crafted from wool, which gives depth, warmth and volume, and linen, which adds a discrete, vibrant note to the overall texture.
