Ute Zscharnt has been a collaborating with David Chipperfield Architects since 2000. As a typographer, graphic designer, and photographer specialising in architecture, culture, and art, she plays a key role in shaping the studio’s visual identity. In her role as Senior Visual Designer, she supports the competition teams with graphic concepts and, more recently, with video projects. For selected projects, she has developed wayfinding systems and signage, including for the Liangzhu Museum in China, the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, and most recently the National Archaeological Museum in Athens.
Ute studied typography at the FWG Berlin. For more than 35 years, she has been teaching typography and photography, among others at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig, the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin, and the Universität der Künste Berlin.
