Lothar Kühlwein studied business administration at Universität Augsburg, Universidad de Valladolid and Freie Universität Berlin and joined David Chipperfield Architects as a business graduate in 2012. Initially responsible for the accounting department, he has contributed to the development of financial controlling as well as being involved in the company management. In 2023 Lothar became Authorised Signatory of the office in Berlin and together with the Managing Directors is responsible for the financial management of the office.
