Graeme Laughlan joined David Chipperfield Architects in 2019, becoming a director in 2021, and Managing Director of the London office in 2024. He has over 20 years of professional experience working on projects in the United Kingdom and internationally, including eight years running his own small architecture studio.
As an architect taking on the role of Managing Director, Graeme prioritises the continuous improvement and rigour of our design process to advance the practice’s architectural excellence. He supports the development of individual and team responsibility and promotes the idea of architecture as a common endeavour in our continued effort to make a meaningful contribution to the natural and built environment.
In addition to his work for the practice, Graeme is a member of the London Borough of Havering Quality Review Panel and has been a guest speaker and visiting critic at architecture schools in the UK. He studied architecture at the University of Strathclyde and the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow School of Art.
