Giuseppe Zampieri was born in Vicenza in 1967. After graduating in architecture with distinction from the Istituto Universitario di Architettura in Venice (IUAV), he joined David Chipperfield Architects’ London Office in 1996, becoming an Associate in 1999, Senior Associate in 2000 and Design Director in 2002. From 2004 to 2006 he headed London's Concept Design team. In 2006, he founded David Chipperfield Architects’ Milan office, initially acting as both Managing and Design Director and then becoming Partner in 2016.

In over 25 years of professional experience, Giuseppe has directed an extensive array of international projects of various scales, ranging from urban masterplans to public and private buildings. During this time, he also continues to lead a selection of competition winning schemes for the practice in locations across the globe.

Since founding the Milan office, Giuseppe has led the development of store concepts for fashion brands including Akris, Bally, Brioni, Furla, Persol and Valentino, as well as concept stores for online retailers such as SSENSE and multi-brand retailers such as Rinascente. He has also directed projects in the Middle East as well as in Italy where the principal ongoing projects regard the renovation of the Procuratie Vecchie in Venice and the Palazzo Ancilotto in Treviso, as well as the conversion of the Piave Barracks for the University of Padua.
