Billy Prendergast

Design Director


Billy Prendergast joined David Chipperfield Architects in 1998 after studying architecture at the University of Portsmouth, becoming a director in 2013. During his time with the practice, he has worked on museums, hotels, and mixed-use and residential developments, as well as numerous design competitions. Other projects include the Elizabeth House mixed use development in Waterloo, London; the Anchorage Museum of History and Art in Alaska, USA; and a five-star luxury resort in Doha, Qatar.


As a design director for the office, he is responsible for design and concept development of projects and competitions worldwide. Billy's current projects include the transformation of Saarinen's American Embassy in London into a five-star hotel, and a series of New York projects including a 32 storey tower on Bryant Park and a new Modern and Contemporary wing for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
