Mayuko Kanasugi studied architecture at the University of Sheffield and the London Metropolitan University and has over 10 years of professional experience. Before joining David Chipperfield Architects in 2022, she worked for practices in Tokyo and London on a range of projects including cultural, residential, mixed-use and restoration works in the UK, Japan, Norway and the US. Since joining the practice, Mayuko has worked on the refurbishment of the historic Jenners department store in Edinburgh and is currently project architect for the Parliamentary Precinct Block 2 project in Ottawa, Canada. Mayuko leads the Diversity group in the London office. She was made an Associate Director in 2023.
