Matt Ball joined David Chipperfield Architects in 2010, becoming an associate director in 2016 and a director in 2021. His projects include Fayland House in Buckinghamshire, UK, and Inagawa Cemetery chapel and visitor centre in Hyogo, Japan. With an expertise in design and concept development, Matt has led several successful competition teams, including the Southwest Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the new headquarters building for Rolex, both in New York, as well as the LSE Firoz Lalji Global Hub in London. As a Team Leader he currently oversees the conversion of 1014 Fifth Avenue in New York into a cultural and education space as well as a new headquarters building is Seoul. Matt has been a guest critic at universities around the UK and regularly gives talks and participates in roundtables on behalf of the practice.
