Construction work has begun for Zhonglanli Capella in Nanjing, a city characterised by history and tradition in East China. The ground-breaking was celebrated in a ceremony on 30 May. The mixed-use complex will incorporate seventeen existing historic buildings and four distinctive new buildings, housing a hotel and serviced apartments. The masterplan conceives the garden as a common ground that mediates the different urban moments, fosters a dialogue between old and new, and offers a clearly defined place in the city. The project is due to complete in 2025.
