The Centre Pompidou and the West Bund Group have announced the renewal of their museum partnership for a further five years. The unique collaboration means that the museum, which opened in 2019, will continue to play a leading role in the development of cultural exchanges between France and China from the end of 2024 until the end of 2029. Since the museum’s opening, West Bund Museum has attracted nearly two million visitors, put on almost 30 exhibitions and hosted over 1,000 public educational activities. The building sits on a raised public esplanade beside the Huangpu River and consists of three main gallery volumes placed around a central atrium. The building is clad with translucent recycled glass, lending the complex an opaline quality on the riverside.
