To mark the 35-year anniversary of the twinning of Berlin and Paris, Berlin mayor Franziska Giffey visited the French capital. Together with a delegation of German business leaders, she met with Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo to talk about sustainable city development. The programme included a visit to the recently completed mixed-use complex at Boulevard Morland by David Chipperfield Architects Berlin. This project was presented as an example of how an existing building can be reconfigured and extended to house a wide variety of uses including housing, retail, office, commercial and cultural uses.
