05.03.2021David Chipperfield on the jury for W Awards

David Chipperfield is joining the jury for the Moira Gemmill Prize for Emerging Architecture, an annual award recognising the work of female and non-binary architects under the age of 45. The prize, which is part of the W Awards, is organised by the W Programme as an initiative to encourage diversity in the industry and was set up by The Architectural Review and The Architects’ Journal. This year’s shortlist includes Rwandan architect Nerea Amorós Elorduy, founder of Creative Assemblages; Cristina Monteiro, co-founder of London-based practice DK-CM; Verónica Villate, co-founder of Mínimo Común, in Paraguay; and the co-founders of Spanish practice Lacol: Ana Clemente, Laura Lluch, Núria Vila, Eulàlia Daví, Ariadna Artigas and Cristina Gamboa. The winner will be announced on 10 March with an online lecture series.

David Chipperfield Architects' London office joined the W programme in 2017 to address issues of representation and to encourage a platform for a plurality of voices, both internally within the practice and externally in the wider profession.
