The latest issue of La Lettura – Corriere della Sera’s cultural supplement – features an extensive article in which David Chipperfield and archaeologist and art historian Professor Salvatore Settis, talk to contemporary art critic Vincenzo Trione about their collaboration in the curation and design of the Torlonia marbles exhibition. The Torlonia collection is one of the world’s most significant collections of classical sculpture but has never been on public display. One hundred marble sculptures, selected from a total of over 600, will be exhibited at the Villa Caffarelli, next to the Capitolini Museums in Rome.
Please note that, due to the COVID-19 emergency, the opening of the exhibition, scheduled for 4 April, has been postponed. The new date has yet to be decided and will be announced as soon as possible.
