Dezeen founder and editor-in-chief Marcus Fairs interviews David Chipperfield for the latest in their new podcast series Face to Face. David talks about his upbringing and how he came to study architecture. He discusses the early projects in Japan, Italy and Germany, explaining how practicing as a British architect in other countries and cultures has influenced the way he works. He also talks about the changing role of the architect and emphasises the importance of using your voice to make progress and generate debate. This is one of the reasons why he accepted the opportunity to be guest-editor of Domus magazine throughout 2020, a project that he also introduces during the conversation.
