03.11.2020Domus N.1051

The November issue of Domus magazine – the last to be guest-edited by David Chipperfield in 2020 – is now available. Over the last year, the agenda section has sought to focus attention on architects’ professional position in a dramatically changing world, emphasising the role of practice rather than the publication of projects. Here the topic of scale is explored in essays by Saskia Sassen, Lucia Allais and Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani.

Also in this month’s issue, Toshiko Mori, Atelier Bow-Wow, Anne Lacaton and Jean Philippe Vassal, Studio Mumbai, BAST, and Tony Fretton directly address the future of architecture. There is writing by Stefano Maffei, Jasper Morrison, Antonio Andreoni and Dan Hill, Thomas Struth, Tadao Ando, Rik Nys, Katharine Kilalea, Fulvio Irace and Jonathan Griffin. For his final cover, Thomas Demand uses the porous façade of the Golconde Dormitory in Pondicherry, “India’s first Modernist building”.
