Journalist Franziska Klün has written an article in the German FAZ Quarterly magazine about the future of the workplace. She notes that, due to the Covid-19 crisis, work environments are changing faster than expected and that the enormous thrust of digitisation makes rethinking our workplaces a necessity.
Klün cites the David Chipperfield Architects-designed Amorepacific headquarters in Seoul as an example of what the office of the future could look like. She describes the large central atrium, with its mixed social programme that encourages spontaneous encounters between staff and the public and helps integrate the building into the public life of the city. She also mentions the elevated gardens that provide protected outdoor spaces for the company staff.
