The design for the new polymer £20 note, which celebrates the British artist JMW Turner, was presented 10 October at the Turner Contemporary in Margate. The note features a depiction of the art gallery, which opened in 2011, together with the Margate lighthouse, within a large see-through window. It also incorporates two Turner paintings; a self-portrait (1799) and The Fighting Temeraire (1838). The note will enter circulation in February 2020.
