A crucial stage in the restoration of Mies van der Rohe’s Neue Nationalgalerie is currently underway with the installation of the new glazing. The monumental glass panels enable transparency through the structure and are one of the most significant elements of Mies’ design concept.

The new panels, which measure 3.4 by 5.4 metres are so large that only a single plant, located in China, could produce them. In total 56 panels have made the journey and are currently being installed.
