Observer architecture critic Rowan Moore has written about Hoxton Press, Colville Estate, as part of an article on Hackney’s new council house building programme. While the two towers, designed by David Chipperfield Architects and Karakusevic Carson Architects, are for private sale, the money raised by their sale will cross-subsidise new social housing on the Colville estate. The towers showcase a positive initiative by local authorities to become more proactively engaged in housing provision and property development, ensuring that it is considered within the wider ideas of community and urbanity.
