The James Simon Galerie on Berlin's Museum Island was handed over to the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin in a ceremony on 13 December.

The completion of the last new building on Museum Island, the James Simon Galerie, is not only a landmark in the history of this World Heritage site, but also marks the end of 20 years of work by David Chipperfield Architects on the Museum Island, which began with the task of rebuilding the Neues Museum.
