The Amorepacific headquarters Seoul has received the grand prize of the Korean Architecture Award 2018 in the 'completed private sector' category.
The building, which opened in June, offers an alternative approach to high-rise corporate architecture. The almost cuboidal form of the building with its larger footprint increases the options for social and public activities on the lower floors, while a central void and large openings in the façades create elevated gardens, providing daylight and views.
The 27th Korean Architecture Award, which was established in 1992, is one of the most prestigious of the country. It is co-hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Seoul Economy Newspaper and sponsored by KIRA (Korea Institute of Registered Architects).
The Award Ceremony was held at the Culture Station Seoul 284 (Former Seoul Station) on 13 November 2018.
