A ceremony was held on 15 June to celebrate the completion of the new headquarters for South Korea’s largest beauty company, Amorepacific, in Seoul.

Inspired by the wide-reaching ambitions and vision of the company, the design rejected a tower solution in favour of a cube with a larger footprint, more firmly grounded in its context, its origins, and its surrounding community.

The new building contains 30 floors across 216,000 square metres, combining under one roof office space for the company, and a diverse range of public facilities, including a museum, a large auditorium, a library, a childcare facility as well as restaurants, bars and cafés – providing significant new spaces for the citizens of Seoul. A central inner courtyard and three large openings in the façade, each containing a garden, break up the compact form, making the building permeable to the city and allowing air and daylight to filter into its depths.
