The new Valentino flagship store, located on Chuo-dori, Ginza’s main shopping avenue opened last Thursday. It forms part of the recently completed Ginza Six, a mixed-use development which is currently the largest retail facility in Tokyo’s famous shopping district.

Designed by DCA Milan, the five-storey store has an area of over 1,330 m² making it one of the largest Valentino flagships and the design represents a further evolution of the established concept. The main façade, which covers all five floors, is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Japanese Noren and Shoji screens. Made of a stretched aluminum mesh and featuring integrated lighting, the screen generates different levels of permeability/visibility during both day and night.

DCA Milan has been working with Valentino since 2008.
