The construction of two residential towers in Hackney, east London, has reached a significant milestone with the topping out of the second, 20-storey tower. The lower, 16-storey tower topped out in October with a ceremony attended by the Mayor of Hackney.
The project, won as the result of a competition held in 2012, was designed in collaboration with Karakusevic Carson Architects and is due to be completed in summer 2018. The project is helping to cross subsidise a wider masterplan allowing the Colville Estate to build a significant number of new council homes for social rent and shared ownership.
