‘Whereas a painting is the final thing a painter produces and a sculpture the final thing a sculptor produces, the architect’s final act does not result in the building itself, but a set of instructions for the architecture of the building’ – Farshid Moussavi
As curator of the Architecture Gallery for this year's RA Summer Exhibition in London, Farshid Moussavi invited entrants to show material celebrating architecture as an 'instruction-based art'.
DCA is represented with recent drawings for the ongoing refurbishment of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin alongside a print of an original 1966 construction drawing for the building. Both focus on the glass detailing of the entrance hall, one of the key components of the practice’s renovation.
The exhibition is open from 13 June and runs until 20 August 2017.
