The Waterkant restaurant, situated on the first floor of the Empire Riverside Hotel in Hamburg, reopens 8 September following a six-week renovation. In celebration of the hotel’s tenth anniversary the room, which overlooks the River Elbe, was reconfigured, and while it remains the hotel’s breakfast area, the refurbishment places an additional emphasis on evening dining. A diaphanous room structure, consisting of a brass frame and mesh panels, creates multiple, smaller spaces within the larger room.
The Empire Riverside Hotel was completed by David Chipperfield Architects Berlin in 2007.
