David Chipperfield will be the first British architect to present the annual Royal Scottish Academy Metzstein Architecture Discourse, which takes place on 2 October at the University of Edinburgh. His lecture will focus on the importance of architecture engaging with society, drawing on his experience of projects such as the Museo Jumex in Mexico City, shown here.
Previous lectures have been delivered by Álvaro Siza, Glenn Murcutt and Peter Zumthor, in a series that was founded in 2014 in memory of Isi Metzstein, the university’s widely admired professor of architecture.
