The opening ceremony for the Carmen Würth Forum in Künzelsau, southern Germany, took place on 18 July 2017. The event coincided with the 80th birthday of Carmen Würth, wife of the entrepreneur Reinhold Würth, whose company is one of the leading international retailers of assembly and fastening materials. Designed by David Chipperfield Architects Berlin, this new culture centre comprises a large events space, a chamber music hall, a sculpture park and a forum for open-air events.

Among the speakers were Winfried Kretschmann, Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, as well as Reinhold Würth and David Chipperfield, who stressed the building’s ability to bring people together, reflecting the client’s deep commitment to nurturing the arts, culture and society. A conference centre and a museum for the Würth art collection are to follow in a second construction stage.
