David Chipperfield Architects has been appointed by the Artprojekt–Group (Berlin) to design the new Marina Resort Bad Saarow. Situated on the western shore of the Scharmützel Lake to the south-east of Berlin, Bad Saarow is a lakeside spa resort steeped in tradition. The 15,000 m2 site for the new Marina Resort is located directly next to a former public bathing beach. The project encompasses a five star boutique hotel with a spa, outdoor swimming pool and owner-occupied apartments. The owners and guests will be able to use a newly developed marina situated in front of the new resort. The project is part of an ongoing redevelopment of the region around the lake to serve as an attractive recreation and leisure area for sailing, golfing and swimming.
