On the morning of the 28th of October, a groundbreaking ceremony took place for what will be the largest museum of natural history in the world. The site is 2km north from the city of Anji in the northwestern Zhejiang province, an area of natural beauty with hills and valleys covered in bamboo forests.The ceremony was led by the cultural administration of the province as well as the local government. Piling works started immediately after the ceremony.


The public opening is due in December 2017.
