The public opening event for this long-awaited exhibition at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin will take place on 1 October at 20:00.
The exhibition uses 144 spruce trunks, each just over 8 meters in length and weighing between half a tonne and a tonne, with diameters between 30cm and 50cm. They are fixed in position at the ceiling with brackets and rest on plates, evenly distributing their weight. The brackets are accommodated within the grid of the ceiling, using perforations which Mies van der Rohe originally intended as anchor points for hanging artworks.

The exhibition will run from 2 October to 31 December.
