Both The Hepworth Wakefield and Turner Contemporary have been shortlisted for a special award to celebrate the best National Lottery funded projects in the last 20 years of its existence.
A Facebook vote is running until midnight on 27 May for one of the 12 competing projects to earn the ‘National Treasure’ title.
The winner will be announced during the National Lottery's 20th Anniversary celebrations later this year.
Turner Contemporary has recieved more than one million visitors since opening in 2011, and surveys show that 67% of all visitors during the past two years went to Margate specifically to see the gallery. The Hepworth Wakefield, which attracted its millionth visitor in December 2013, celebrates its third anniversary on 21 May.
