David Chipperfield Architects is one of the six practices shortlisted for the competition to create a new project in the spirit of architect Joseph Paxton’s original Crystal Palace building in south London.
Originally completed in 1851 for the Great Exhibition in Hyde Park, Joseph Paxton’s extended and relocated Crystal Palace was the largest glass structure in the world before being destroyed by a fire in 1936.
