Following a lecture on museums at the Haus der Kunst in Munich, David Chipperfield was joined by its newly-appointed director Okwui Enwezor for a public discussion.
David Chipperfield Architects Berlin has been appointed for the renovation of the building after a two-phased bidding procedure.
Opened in 1937 as the first representative building of the “Third Reich”, it is one of the most iconic and controversial landmarks in Munich. Since the late 1940s Haus der Kunst has steadily developed into an internationally renowned exhibition venue for contemporary art.
