The exhibition held at the Design Museum in London from 21 October 2009 to 31 January 2010 provided an overview of the practiceā€™s work over two sections. The ļ¬rst explored an evolution of projects; both built and unbuilt, tracing a series of ideas and development of form. The second offered a more in-depth view of a series of representative projects, including The Hepworth Wakeļ¬eld and Turner Contemporary in Margate, the Stirling Prize winning Museum of Modern Literature in Marbach, Germany, the Neues Museum in Berlin and the Rockbund project on the Bund in Shanghai.

The exhibition included a large amount of primary material, including original sketches, drawings and working models, along with a number of newly created large scale models and drawings. An accompanying catalogue, published by Buchhandlung Walther Kƶnig, expanded an exploration on the significance of form through a number of essays by David Chipperļ¬eld. After its run at the Design Museum, the exhibition travelled to A CoruƱa, Seoul and Pisa.
