Curated by Professor Fulvio Irace and designed by David Chipperfield Architects, the exhibition at the Museo ICO space in Madrid reflected on some of the practice's key projects over 30 years and the central role that architectural models play in the practice's working method. From early projects such as Kao House and Kaistrasse Studios to Once Pancras Square office building and Museo Jumex, the exhibition captured the practice's work with historic buildings and new buildings across a wide range of international contexts and typologies.

Large-scale wooden models, context models, small-scale trophy-like presentation models and iterative foamboard study models were used to reveal the ways in which modelmaking serves as tools for understanding and communicating the qualities of architecture at a range of scales. The exhibition also included drawings and photography and film, including photographs by Candida Höfer of the Neues Museum on the Museum Island in Berlin.
